Background
SodaStream is a leading carbonated soft drinks maker. They experience two major sales peaks each year:
- Early Summer, when hot weather drives demand for cold drinks.
- November–December, during Black Friday and Christmas shopping.
Resolution (OMD Group), managing SodaStream’s campaigns in Poland, sought to maximize impact during the summer season. The goal was to align SodaStream messaging with consumer mindset: when temperatures soar, people look for refreshing beverages. Delivering creatives that matched real-time conditions across Poland’s key cities was central to their strategy.

The Solution
Resolution deployed weather-orchestrated advertising via the WeatherAds platform to tailor SodaStream’s creatives to real-time local conditions. Ads were served across Social (Facebook) and Programmatic Display (DV360).
Geographic structure: Campaigns were segmented by Poland’s major cities to reflect local weather differences.
Creative variations: Three weather-specific creatives were delivered, corresponding to:
- Hot weather (+30°C)
- Mild/normal weather (20–30°C)
- Rainy conditions
Automation: WeatherAds’ triggers activated personalized creatives city-by-city, from sunrise to sunset, ensuring ads were always contextually relevant when consumer demand was highest.
This granular setup gave SodaStream maximum agility to stay in front of audiences with the right message at the right time.

The Results
The WeatherAds-powered campaign outperformed SodaStream’s ongoing standard campaigns across virtually every metric:
- 50% higher conversion rate (last click)

- 12s longer average viewable time per ad → greater user attention
